Position Summary: The Activity Aide plans and delivers recreational programs and events for men with brain injuries. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to organize activities that meet residents’ physical, social, emotional, and recreational needs. Activities may include games, exercises, shopping, outings, and appointments. Additional duties include recording resident data, managing comfort funds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in seasonal and special event programs that recognize meaningful occasions for residents.
- Set up and lead a variety of therapeutic activities, including exercises, cognitive activities, outings, and appointments.
- Record residents’ participation in recreation attendance records.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education/Training:
- University or college graduation with a degree in a related field.
- Valid driver’s licence (Class 4 preferred).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Related experience is considered an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agencies, and the public.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to sudden changes in plans.
- Comfortable working independently with clients.
- Must feel comfortable booking appoints for Dr,Dentist ,Eye Appointments etc.
- Must feel comfortable driving facility van.
Qualification for Activity Aide:
- Ability to complete administrative tasks, including record keeping.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate program records.
- Availability to work some weekends or other irregular hours as needed.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
Please note that this is a full-time position of 30–40 hours per week, depending on appointments and outings. We are seeking the right candidate for a long-term role.
Starting Wage: to be discussed, depends on experience.
